KOREAN CENTER INCORPORATED

SAN FRANCISCO, California, 94109-6605 United States

Mission Statement

Our mission is to create spaces for exploring Korean culture and heritage, bridging communities and generations, collaborating to address Korean American community needs in the Bay Area.

About This Cause

The history of Korean Center, Inc. (KCI) mirrors the growth of the San Francisco Bay Area's Korean community. Established in 1974 as the Multi-Service Center for Koreans (MSCK), this non-profit organization was created to address the diverse needs of newly arriving Korean immigrants. In 1984, after three years of dedicated effort, MSCK secured a permanent location on Post Street in San Francisco and was renamed Korean Center, Inc. (KCI). It began offering services to people of all ages and backgrounds throughout the Bay Area. Today, KCI provides Korean language classes, cultural youth programs, and senior services to the San Francisco Bay Area residents. Additionally, KCI hosts an annual Chuseok Festival in the fall, celebrating Korean culture and cuisine with the broader community.
