Mission Statement
Family and Children's Services is a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian 501(c)(3) agency that has been serving Central Maryland since 1849. Our mission is to transform the lives of children and adults by providing opportunities to build self-confidence, resilience and hope. Our service delivery platform is composed of two distinct but integrated divisions. Our behavioral health division offers specialized trauma-focused mental health and substance abuse counseling as well as psychiatric services. The case management division includes the Family Violence Project, comprehensive case management and the evidenced-based program models Healthy Families and Family Stability.
About This Cause
For more than 167 years, Family and Children's Services has provided a broad range of free and low-fee support services for every member of the family, from infants to senior citizens. We are a private, nonsectarian, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving Baltimore City and the five surrounding counties. Every year, we provide services in Central Maryland to over 7,000 families and individuals struggling with critical issues like domestic violence, child abuse, mental illness, caregiving and raising families. Our mission is to transform the lives of children and adults by providing opportunities to build self-confidence, resilience and hope.
