Mission Statement
The mission of Rising for Justice is to harness the combined forces of experienced attorneys and student advocates to deliver free and high-quality legal services to poor and indigent people in the District.
About This Cause
Rising for Justice is a consortium of programs designed to make justice a reality for low-income residents of D.C. We create economic stability, keep families in homes, increase health outcomes and employment rates, and ensure that equal justice applies to all regardless of income. While directly representing individuals in their legal cases, we also train approximately 90 law students each year in our clinical education programs. Since our founding in 1969, we have protected the rights of over 250,000 D.C. residents and trained almost 4,000 social justice advocates.
