About This Cause
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization that encourages the informed and active participation in government. We envision a democracy where every person has the desire, the right, the knowledge, and the confidence to participate. We are women and men of all ages and backgrounds encouraging informed and active participation in government, working to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influencing public policy through education and advocacy. Since 1920, we have been an activist, grassroots organization whose leaders believed that voters should play a critical role in democracy.
