About This Cause

EESI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with over 40 years of experience in delivering timely, relevant, and accessible information about climate, energy, and environmental topics to policymakers, with an emphasis on members of Congress and their staff. EESI is a trusted convener of Congressional briefings that feature subject matter experts and community and corporate leaders on a wide variety of climate topics. The importance of nonpartisan, science-based resources is greater than ever before. EESI has a role to play in increasing the scientific and technical capacity of the legislative branch to understand the climate change-public health nexus and negative impacts on human health and wellbeing. EESI’s educational resources about climate change topics—including resilience, adaptation, and innovative solutions—are used extensively by Congressional staff, as well as reporters and concerned citizens across the country. EESI multiplies its impact through the media. EESI regularly has media mentions, including large outlets such as CNBC, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and the Associated Press, reaching millions of readers and viewers. EESI staff also appeared in 21 speaking engagements throughout the year.
