Project Details
In response to the situation in Syria, Global Impact has launched a relief fund to help those affected by the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) announced that Syrians registered as refugees or awaiting registration as refugees totaled more than 2 million, which is roughly 10 percent of the nation’s population. According to the UN, another 4.25 million Syrians have been displaced within the country. The majority if these refugees or displaced people have taken shelter in neighboring nations. The number of refugees and displaced people is poised to climb, as the fighting is escalating and the threat of outside involvement looms.
