Mission Statement
The Seattle Area Chapter of Association for Women in Science (AWIS) was founded in 1985 and is affiliated with National AWIS (awis.org). National AWIS serves as a resource, a network and a voice for women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
About This Cause
The Seattle AWIS chapter has been supporting Seattle area women in STEM since 1985. The chapter strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment for women in science, technology, engineering and math at all education and career levels. We have signature programs that advance the careers of women and encourage participation of girls in science. Our members (women and men) represent many fields of STEM and all education and career levels.
