Mission Statement
Green America (EarthShare/CFC #10059) is a non-profit membership organization building a green economy that works for people and the planet. Our network of 250,000 conscious consumers and 3,500 green businesses have helped us create responsible choices in the market place, including: • convincing General Mills to take GMOs out of it's original recipe Cheerios; • getting Clean Energy Victory Bonds legislation introduced in Congress in 2014; • securing Hershey's commitment to using cocoa certified as child labor free by 2020; • helping 200 magazines use recycled paper; and • directing over $100 million in purchases to support local, green companies.
About This Cause
Green America (EarthShare/CFC #10059) was founded in 1982 to create an economy that works for people and the planet. Since then, we have built our individual member and activist network to more than 170,000 people and our Green Business Network to 3,500 certified businesses. Our Green Festivals in five cities attract tens of thousands of conscious consumers every year. Our print and online media reach millions of people each year with information on buying, investing, and living green. Our programs – including Better Paper; Climate Action; Social Investing; Fair Trade; and GMO Inside – mobilize consumers, investors, and business leaders to take action for a greener economy.
