About This Cause
Founded in 1988, the National Fair Housing Alliance (NFHA) is a consortium of more than 200 private, nonprofit fair housing organizations and state and local civil rights agencies from throughout the United States. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., NFHA is the country's only national civil rights organization dedicated solely to eliminating housing discrimination and ensuring equitable housing opportunities for all people. Through its education and outreach, membership services, public policy, advocacy, housing and community development, tech equity, enforcement, and consulting and compliance programs, NFHA works to dismantle longstanding barriers to equity and build diverse, inclusive, well-resourced communities. NFHA strives to make fair housing a cornerstone civil rights and social justice issue and remove barriers and create fair access to equitable housing and economic opportunities for underserved people and communities.
