Mission Statement
We preserve parks today and create park stewards for tomorrow. We acquire the missing pieces of our national parks, the privately owned land located within and adjacent to our national parks’ boundaries. We also bring thousands of kids from under-resourced communities to our parks; they are our future caretakers of these priceless resources.
About This Cause
Since 1983, the Park Trust has acquired many of the missing pieces of our national parks, benefiting 56 national park sites across the country. Our national youth education and family initiatives, including our Buddy Bison, College Ambassador and Military Family Programs, and National Kids to Parks Day, serve tens of thousands of children annually and cultivate future park stewards. We believe our public parks, lands, and waters should be cared for, enjoyed, and preserved by all for current and future generations. In fiscal year 2024, 85% of our resources were used for our Park Preservation and Youth and Family Programs. In addition, we earned a top ranking of “A” with Charity Watch, have met all 20 criteria of the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance, and have earned four stars from Charity Navigator. We are also a Platinum-Level participant with GuideStar with a demonstrated commitment to transparency. We are good stewards of our parks and your resources!
