CONGRESSIONAL HUNGER CENTER

Washington, District of Columbia, 20001 United States

Mission Statement

The Congressional Hunger Center develops, inspires, and connects leaders in the movement to end hunger and to advocates for public policies to create a food secure world. We create, nurture, and engage a community of leaders, especially leaders who have experienced hunger and poverty and leaders of color, to act as change agents in bridging the gap between field and policy, community and Congress, theory and practice. We strive to be a leader in the movement to ensure access to food as a basic human right for all people.

About This Cause

The Congressional Hunger Center is a bipartisan 501(c)3 organization that works to make issues of domestic and international hunger a priority to policymakers in the U.S. government, and trains and inspires a new generation of leaders who fight against hunger and poverty and advocate public policies that create a food secure world. The Hunger Center prioritizes putting the people most affected by hunger at the center of our work. We do this through leadership development, advocacy, and network building. In all that we do, we apply an equity lens and focus on bridging field and policy perspectives. To date, we have trained more than 650 leaders in our fellowship and internship programs.
