Mission Statement

IWDC was established in 1995 with a mission to strengthen women's global leadership through training, education, networking and education with a focus on increasing the participation of women in politics, policy and decision making within their own countries.

About This Cause

IWDC works in partnership with established organizations to implement all programs, projects and activities to train women leadership in the technical tools and leadership skills to participate in the policy, politics and decision making within their own government. IWDC facilitates campaign management workshops, elected parliamentarian workshops, NGO management workshops and next generation workshops to ensure that women have a voice in the policies that impact their lives and their communities. In 1998, the United Nations awarded IWDC Special Consultative Status to the Economic and Social Council which ensures that IWDC participates as an official NGO to all UN Conferences, Special Sessions and expert group meetings. IWDC's Welcome Refugees project was established to ensure that arriving refugees are welcomed and supported in their new home. With a team of volunteers, they find and furnish apartments, enroll moms in ESL, register kids for school, help dad's get driver's licenses, find jobs and rebuild their lives torn by war. IWDC's Welcome Refugees Financial Literacy program facilitates workshops for newly arrived refugees about the US financial system including but not limited to savings, credit, insurance, mortgages, retirement and provides tools for budgeting and personal finance.
