Mission Statement

The Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP), founded in 1996, is a nonprofit that operates a network of neighborhood charter schools serving over 2,700 students: City Springs Elementary/Middle School, Frederick Elementary School, Hampstead Hill Academy, Govans Elementary School, and Wolfe Street Academy.

About This Cause

The Baltimore Curriculum Project's mission is to develop, implement, and advocate for an innovative, sustainable, and replicable education model that improves student outcomes. In so doing, the Baltimore Curriculum Project will help to raise educational standards and opportunities for disadvantaged youth and Baltimore City schools. BCP converts traditional public schools into neighborhood charter schools. As a result, BCP schools continue to serve their neighborhood attendance zones. Anyone living in the neighborhood may enroll without participating in a lottery. BCP provides its schools with an array of supports including: customized professional development workshops, a Summer Training Institute, in-class coaching, the BCP Teacher Think Tank, curriculum development, principal mentoring, teacher recruitment, fundraising, operations management, marketing and communications, payroll services, partnership-building, and more.
