About This Cause
Byte Back is a DC-based nonprofit that provides free technology education and career training to hundreds of adult students in the DC area and Baltimore, MD. The communities we serve are unemployed or underemployed. They lack employable digital skills and are left out of the workforce and many training opportunities. Program participants are typically people of color and women who have an incredible and untapped potential to change the tech sector and the workforce. Through Byte Back's programs, we help these adults obtain living-wage careers in technology and realize that potential. Our approach is to meet adults at their skill level and coach them along a pathway to employment. We are one of the only organizations in the country to provide training at all levels, from introductory computer classes to industry-recognized certification courses. Last year, 57 adults entered new careers increasing their average annual income by more than $24,000.
