Mission Statement
SODEV International works to achieve grass-roots socioeconomic development in sub-Saharan Africa through education, vocational training, knowledge transfer, and micro- and small enterprises.
About This Cause
SODEV International is a nonprofit organization established in 2000 in Washington, DC. It is governed by section 501 (c)(3) tax code of the United States. At SODEV, we are currently working for the sustainable socio- economic development of rural communities in the Republic of Benin. For the past 15 years, we have been working with the marginalized populations for improved living conditions, empowerment and self-reliance through its action program, the Rural Communities Development Program (RCDP). Since the beginning of 2016 we have been working on improving our services. In 2017, we will focus on 1) establishing a network of regional nonprofit organizations to encourage a collaboration that will benefit the rural communities, 2) training the leaders of local nonprofit organizations in Benin, 3) provide training on managerial capacity development to village chiefs to help them better manage their responsibilities, and 4) continue to explore ways for expanded training opportunities for people in order to create more job opportunities and improved living conditions.
