About This Cause

NAVAL SERVICES FAMILYLINE is a non-profit organization of Navy family volunteers. FamilyLine provides courses, workshops, and publications free-of-charge to Navy commands and families. It is comprised of four main components: COMPASS, CORE, Publications, and Spouse Leadership Courses. COMPASS is a team mentoring program developed by spouses, for spouses. It is held several times a year in locations worldwide. This unique course helps spouses understand and meet the challenges of the Navy lifestyle. This program provides spouses with a realistic understanding of what they can expect from being a Navy family. CORE (CONTINUUM of RESOURCES and EDUCATION) is a worldwide Navy spouse to spouse mentoring and education program. CORE is a network of seminars, workshops, classes, and people dedicated to empowering the Navy spouse, educating the Navy family, and promoting the Navy lifestyle. The FamilyLine Guideline Series has been an invaluable tool for generations of Navy spouses. These publications deal with understanding naval traditions, planning for challenges, and preparing for emergencies. The titles below are just a selection of our full library of publications. Navy families, U.S. active and reserve joint military commands, Ombudsmen, Fleet and Family Support Centers and any other U.S. official military capacity can order or download copies for free at www.nsfamilyline.org Sea Legs: A Handbook for Navy Life and Service Guidelines for Navy Family Emergency Preparedness Social Customs and Traditions of the Sea Services Guidelines for Navy Reserve Families Guidelines for the Spouses of Chief Petty Officers Guidelines for the Spouses of CO/XOs Guidelines for the Spouses of CMC/COBs Guidelines for the Spouses of Navy Flag Officers COMMAND SPOUSE LEADERSHIP COURSE and COMMAND MASTER CHIEF SPOUSE LEADERSHIP COURSE are one- week courses that include lessons in situational leadership, values, ethics, conflict resolution, stress, and crisis management.
