Mission Statement
As a Roman Catholic Christian school community, St. Ignatius School educates each student by helping to develop their faith and by teaching them academic skills that will last a lifetime. These skills and a commitment to life-long learning will empower them to support the mission of St. Ignatius Parish. Our programs are designed to celebrate and develop the individual gifts of our students, including those with disabilities and those who display giftedness, and to assist parents in their efforts to educate the whole child. Our ultimate goal is to graduate students whose lives are examples of the Gospel message.
About This Cause
St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic School is located on North Bend Road in Monfort Heights, a suburban area northwest of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio and convenient to Interstate 74. The school is an integral ministry of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish and is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cincinnati. St. Ignatius admits students of any race, color, and nationality or ethnic origin. In 1946, St. Ignatius School was opened by the Sisters of Mercy in a four-room schoolhouse. St. Ignatius has approximately 1,150 students enrolled in preschool through grade eight. Students come from 18 different school districts in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Roughly eight percent of the students attending St. Ignatius receive special education services, primarily through the Jon Peterson or Autism Scholarships provided by the state of Ohio. With 40 homerooms and 20 additional educators who serve in administrative roles, intervention and enrichment, our student:teacher ratio is approximately 16:1.
