Mission Statement
Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality Center is a sacred space where people of all faiths and cultures are invited to explore and nurture their relationships with the Source of all Being, Earth, Self and Others, with an increasing awareness of the story of the Universe. The vision of Prairiewoods is of people everywhere, awakened in consciousness and energized by the loving, creative Spirit of the Universe into a community, moving together into wisdom, compassion and the fullness of life. Prairiewoods is sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
About This Cause
Prairiewoods is a Franciscan retreat and conference center focused on ecology, spirituality and holistic health. We are restoring and maintaining over 65 acres of prairie and woodlands and have over 2 miles of walking trails that are open to all. We have gardens where we grow thousands of pounds of fresh, organic produce that is donated to local food pantries. Holistic services are also provided such as yoga, massage therapy, art classes, singing bowls, and more. We often hold meditation classes as well as silent guided retreats for our guests.
