Mission Statement
The mission at Edmarc is to ease the trauma of a child's illness or death and to reduce the disabling effects of pediatric illness, loss, and bereavement on families. The professionals at Edmarc understand that just as a sick child bears a special burden, so do the parents and siblings. Therefore these professionals are dedicated to helping every member of the family through home care, hospice and bereavement support services.
About This Cause
Edmarc meets the multidimensional needs of the family and the physical and emotional needs of the child. It provides professional care, including skilled nursing visits to very sick children in their own homes, amid family love and commotion, and, through a vast array of professional supportive services. Siblings are offered one-on-one counselling by professionals and are included in sibling support groups. Social workers, a volunteer resource coordinator, bereavement director and many volunteers work together to develop a support system of care for all who are affected by the illness of the child- parents, brothers and sisters, and grandparents. Edmarc’s support enables families to keep their child at home and to be a family during those final times.
