Richmond Hill's mission is to seek God's healing of metropolitan Richmond through prayer, hospitality, racial reconciliation and spiritual development.

About This Cause

Founded in 1987, Richmond Hill is an ecumenical Christian community and intentional residential community who serve as stewards of an urban retreat center within the setting the historic monastery of the Sisters of the Visitation of Monte Maria located in Church Hill in the center of Richmond. The mission of the Community is to pray and work for the transformation of the metropolitan city. Opportunities for individual prayer and ministry include a chapel, library and gardens open to the public; the Jerusalem Mile - a contemplative labyrinth overlooking the city; Spiritual Guidance; Healing Prayer; Individual silent retreats. Opportunities for study include: RUAH school of Spiritual Direction School of Pastoral Care and Counseling SOZO School of Healing Prayer VOCARE school for vocation Urban Service Corps Opportunities for Community Engagement include: Micah program in Richmond Public Schools Armstrong Leadership Program RVA Rapid Transit initiative
