About This Cause
Founded in 1988, Friends of the North Fork of the Shenandoah River’s mission is to keep the North Fork of the Shenandoah River clean, healthy, and beautiful through advocacy, community action, education and science. Under the leadership of our board and Executive Director, FNFSR employs 4 part time staff and maintains a membership base of nearly 500 households. Our programs emphasize building knowledge about the river, building connections between the community and its waterways, and building capacity for protecting the river's health.
