VIRGINIA KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CHARITIES INC

Springfield, Virginia, 22153 United States

Mission Statement

In 1994, the Virginia State Council of the Knights of Columbus incorporated the charity committee to form the Virginia Knights of Columbus Charities, Inc. (VKCCI) for the purpose of carrying out the first principle of our Order, “Charity”, as envisioned by our Founder, the Venerable Servant of God, Fr. Michael J. McGivney. VKCCI grants provide financial support to those residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia, who, through no fault of their own, are unable to provide the basic essentials of life (food, clothing, shelter, medical and health) for themselves or their family members, and have exhausted all other avenues of relief. The mission of VKCCI is to carry out the first principle of our order, Charity. VKCCI provides grants, through Virginia Knights of Columbus Councils, of up to $4,000 to individuals in urgent and critical financial need. Utilizing funds provided by a KOVAR grant, VKCCI is also able to provide funds to individuals with intellectual disabilities. From July 1, 1994 through April 30, 2022, because of the generosity of Virginia Councils, KOVAR, and individual KofC members, VKCCI has awarded 1,162 grants totaling $2.1 million.
