Our mission is to improve health and advance health equity in Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax by providing high quality primary care regardless of ability to pay.
About This Cause
Neighborhood Health is the primary health care safety net provider to over 40,000 patients from the City of Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax County. We provide medical, dental and behavioral health services as well as insurance application assistance, medication assistance, and Ryan White HIV/AIDS services. All services are provided regardless of our patients ability to pay. Our patients represent the most vulnerable populations. Eighty percent of our patients are either uninsured (44%) or on Medicaid (36%). Our patients come from low-income families: 83% have household incomes below 200% FPL. Many of our patients have health issues that require continual care including diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, kidney failure, and obesity.
