About This Cause

The national organization, Girls Incorporated, is the oldest girl-serving organization in the country, with the first Girls Club opening in Waterbury, CT in 1864. Today, Girls Inc. serves 125,000 girls annually across the U.S. & Canada. Our vision is empowered girls and an equitable society. Our gender-specific programs empower girls to access a bright and independent future. Our strong, smart, and bold curricula is research-based to ensure that each girl has the tools they need to realize their potential: STRONG - healthy... SMART - academic & STEM... BOLD - girls voices... All Girls Inc. programs are designed to motivate girls to become leaders in their communities, learn to lift their voices for change, and to grow into self-confident women. During the 2014-2015 school year, Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest served over 1,500 girls in Portland-Metro and greater Oregon. And in 2015, as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we embark on an ambitious new endeavor to break down barriers to access and serve 10,000 girls annually by 2025.
