Mission Statement

Peninsula Aquatic Center/Redwood Scullers was started to bring rowing to teenagers and adults of the Bay Area through organized teams, rowing classes, camps and sponsored regattas. Our goal to mesh sport and access and love of water gives all residents the ability to experience the wonderful waterways of the Bay Area.

About This Cause

Peninsula Aquatic Center Junior Crew/Redwood Sculler's mission is to provide an environment where athletes can experience the benefits of rowing either on a competitive or developmental team-based level. PACJC will bring discipline, confidence, and teamwork to the daily lives of our athletes. Although the competitiveness and success of the program is important, nothing will be placed before the team as a whole. Our Team Foundations are as follows: Impeccable technique – Rowing is a sport that requires all athletes to have proficiency in their technique. A rower who can row at a high speed while expending less energy throughout the competition is a rower who will win. Crushing Power – Rowing is a sport that requires all athletes to generate great power to propel the boat down the racecourse. Athletes must commit to physical conditioning both on the erg and core training to prepare themselves for the demands in training and racing. High Morale – A team and an athlete cannot excel without a joy of being on the water. Training requires that all athletes not only show up on time to practice, but to want to be at practice. High Morale is the final foundation that makes for a great team and a great rower.
