About This Cause
Founded in Raleigh in 1967, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Wake County is an independent, 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization and shelter, serving over half the counties in NC. Our mission is to transform the lives of pets and people through protection, care, education, and adoption. Our vision is to create a humane community. We provide vital community programs that pick up where local government agencies leave off, including access to education resources, affordable spay/neuter services, and pet food assistance.
