VAE is a hub for a diverse network of artists, a venue for artists to advance their careers, and a voice to influence positive change for the creative community.
About This Cause
VAE Raleigh is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 1980 by a group of artists to encourage and support the development of the Triangle's creative community, VAE is Raleigh's longest running, private, non-profit visual arts organization. VAE supports artists by: Providing entrepreneurial and leadership education and resources for artists. Establishing and energizing support networks for artists. Advancing the role of artists within the community. Advocating for the advancement of artists and value of creativity in our lives. VAE currently maintains a 4,000 s/f gallery and workspace in Downtown Raleigh’s Warehouse District. VAE is known in the Triangle as a place where artists can try new things, build a support network and accelerate their careers. We serve artists at every level of their careers, working in every creative discipline. Many new or emerging artists begin with non-juried membership, volunteer opportunities, education programs, and community exhibitions. As artists progress, juried group exhibitions, one-on-one meetings with staff, and artist-run critique groups help them cultivate their skills and network. Advanced and ambitious artists can participate in featured artist programs, experimental galleries, and participate in intensive workshops to launch or retool their careers.
