About This Cause
Founded in 2001, Hearts with Haiti works in partnership with the St. Joseph Family of Haiti to create a caring family for Haitians facing the challenges of poverty or disability and fostering skills and opportunities for those in their community. The ministries of St. Joseph Family serve some of the most disadvantaged in Port-au-Prince and Jacmel, including children and adults with physical and mental challenges, children whose families cannot afford to send them to school, and young men who need assistance to complete their education. St. Joseph Family provides competitive salaries, benefits and regular wages for the 79 people employed to support the ministries. Our goal is to create sustainable change by providing food, shelter, medical care, and education to Haiti’s most vulnerable populations. More than 1000 people benefit from St. Joseph Family outreach and programs throughout the year in the communities surrounding Wings of Hope, Lekòl Sen Trinite and the St. Joseph Community Outreach Center
