Mission Statement
Lighthouse Ministries’ mission is to help the Florence Area churches organize and administer community resources, reaching out in cooperative fellowship, providing for the relief of emergency physical needs, and in doing so, ministering to the spiritual needs of God’s children.
About This Cause
Lighthouse Ministries serves more than 2,000 families each year with their basic needs. We are a faith based, nonprofit, social service agency where participants receive ministry service aid for deposits or payments of rent, utilities, or necessary medications for thirty days or more and persons stranded may receive travel aid. Food and children's books are also provided. Lighthouse Ministries supports the whole family by building stronger relationships through our Strengthening Families Program. We work to prevent child abuse and neglect through our Working Mothers Education and Support Program. Handicapped persons are given greater mobility through our Ramp Program. Lighthouse Ministries is involved with the First Friday Homeless Connect Event which is held each month. At this event, thirty agencies come together to provide their services to individuals and families who are in need.
