Mission Statement
We provide an 8 day residential summer music camp for students in grades 6-12. The camp mission is to inspire young people to achieve their best musically, to enjoy a great social/recreational experience and take home memories that will last a lifetime. We also provide scholarships to attend camp for all low income students.
About This Cause
The Hayward La-Honda Music Camp is organized to challenge students in a variety of creative pursuits and is devoted to the development of musicianship for students grades 6-12. This is accomplished through a program of study, concentrated rehearsal, performance, recreation and general camp life. Band, Orchestra, Jazz bands, Chorus, Music Theory, Jazz Improvisation, string, wind and percussion chamber groups, conducting, electronic music, music recording, composition, arts and crafts, and latin jazz are all available classes. We also offer horseback riding, zip line, canoeing, swimming, climbing tower, hiking, ping pong and archery. Camp is located on a 1000 acre redwood forest in the town of La Honda. We provide scholarships to attend camp for all low income students. The camp mission is to inspire young people to achieve their best musically, to enjoy a great social/recreational experience and take home memories that will last a lifetime.
