Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where severely abused and neglected children can thrive and heal.
About This Cause
Murphy-Harpst Children's Centers provides hope and a future to youth and families who struggle with hopelessness, confusion and despair. The majority of the children and youth we treat are sent to us with terrible histories of physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, deprivation, abandonment, rejection and/or on-going trauma stemming from these and other acts of disregard. Others have succumbed to negative peer pressure, drug use, drug dealing, gangs, sexual promiscuity, etc. Due to the severity of abuse our children have experienced, the complexities of their emotional needs, and the impact trauma has had on their thinking and behavior, the work we do at Murphy-Harpst can be extremely challenging. We provide Residential Services, Education, a strong Clinical Program, Therapeutic Activites including a Work Program and Equine Therapy, Specialized Foster Care and a Transitional Living Program. MHCC is in a covenant relationship with the United Methodist Women national office and is a recognized 501(c)(3). Gifts are tax deductible as allowed by IRS regulations.
