The mission of SafeHomes is to transform victims of domestic violence into survivors and be the catalyst to bring about the end of domestic violence in our community.
About This Cause
We understand that domestic violence is not just about the victim, but it has an effect on the entire family, the community and society in general. At SafeHomes, our mission is to transform victims into survivors and be the catalyst to bring about the end of domestic violence in our community. We do this by providing access to our emergency shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, life skills classes, job training and much more. For more than 30 years, we have remained the only domestic violence program for the 10-county East Central Georgia region of Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Jefferson, Lincoln, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren and Wilkes counties. In 2013, more than 2,000 victims were served through our shelter and outreach services, in addition to the more than 1,200 teens reached through our teen dating violence prevention program.
