Mission Statement

The Triangle Woodworkers Association (TWA) is a nonprofit educational corporation dedicated to teaching woodworking techniques through seminars, classes, and workshops.

About This Cause

Triangle Woodworkers Association (TWA) is a (local only) nonprofit educational corporation located in the Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina, USA. It serves as a hub for all those sharing a love of working with wood who also like to participate in a group (club) experience. TWA has monthly meetings in which knowledgeable speakers make presentations covering a full range of woodworking topics. These topics span the range from fundamental woodworking techniques to furniture design and woodworking machine reviews. Members also bring in their recent projects for a show and tell segment. In addition, nationally known craftsmen are commissioned to run weekend workshops where they share their skills through the hands-on experience of building a small but fun project with members. TWA’s most popular workshop activity is the yearly participation with the Marine Corps to build wooden toys for the Toys-For-Tots program at Christmas. We have over half of our members involved in one or more workshops in support of this over 25 year old program. There are no minimum skill requirements to be a member, only a desire to be around like-minded individuals who enjoy participating in a hobby that focuses on working with wood.
