About This Cause
Lanier Christian Academy is a distinctly different K-12 Christian School. We are unique because we offer two different models of learning: A traditional 5 day model, and a 3 day University model. We also extend many of our programs to the homeschool community. We believe that education should be Biblically based, and fit the learning needs of each particular child and family. We offer a unique flexibility in order to provide the best learning situation for all of our students. Lanier Christian Academy was formed in the fall of 2016 when North Georgia Christian School and Heritage Academy unified to become Lanier Christian Academy. Heritage Academy had been in operation for 30+ years implementing the University Model. Their students would come to school 3 days per week and work from home during the other 2. North Georgia Christian School had been in operation for over 30 years as well. NGCS was started by the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, GA and originally named Westminster Christian School. In 2008 WCS became North Georgia Christian School and began operating independently from Westminster Presbyterian Church. We want to see our students leave Lanier Christian Academy equipped for life in today’s culture and eager to grow God’s Kingdom. Academically they will be prepared to pursue post-secondary education. Mentally they will be equipped to defend their faith and sustain their walk with the Lord. Our students will be prepared to be the next generation of Christian leaders. They will lead in their future vocations, in their homes, and in their churches. We understand that our students do not all learn in the same way, and that it is necessary for us to be creative in how we approach serving them and their families. Bringing these different educational models under one roof has taught us to be innovative and creative with our approach for each student. Lanier Christian Academy is the result of the Lord’s guidance and generous givers that see the need for Biblically grounded educational choice in our community. Our teachers and staff are focused on delivering excellent educational quality to our students and intentional customer service for their family. We want them to be enthusiastic for teaching their students as well as modeling a godly example. Upper School teachers and administrators will have the opportunity to lead a discipleship group that will be focused on modeling godly life habits for our students. We are working to increase our enrollment in order to expand our reach. Currently we are inhabiting a church campus that can hold 450 students. We would love to offer this excellent educational experience to additional families in our community. We want our school community to be one that blesses and supports the lives of our members. In Spring of 2020 we conducted a comprehensive strategic planning process. We have three main objectives as a result of this planning: 1 - Deliver excellent educational quality and value for every student, 2 - Establish our long-term future, 3 - Strengthen the Christian culture and uniqueness of our school community. We will use these goals to guide our decision making and program efforts over the next 5 years. As we continue to pursue this vision for our graduates and implement our strategic plan, we have identified the following components of our strategic priorities: Deliver excellent educational quality and value for every student -Providing tools for our teachers that will assist in curriculum development and Biblical integration. -Offering growth opportunities for our faculty/staff for continued education -Retaining a minimum of 90% of our student body -Funding need based financial aid -Implementing near term technology improvements and funding a long-term technology plan that integrates an online model of learning -Athletic and Arts improvements -Improving our ability to serve families with children with diagnosed learning disabilities Establishing our long-term future -Pay off the final balance of the property we recently acquired to be our permanent campus -Grow a community of generous giving for our future -Build lasting relationships with alumni and past parents -Establish a plan for legacy giving -Construction of initial facilities of our long-term home (multi-purpose building, football field, and academic building) Strengthening the Christian culture and uniqueness of our school community -Focusing on discipleship and the spiritual life of our students. This will help us fulfill our mission to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. We desire to help our students develop healthy spiritual habits and hold them accountable. -Bolstering our faculty/staff morale. Joyful faculty and staff will build great relationships with our students and families. Our teachers will be joyful because they are fulfilling God’s purpose in their life. -Recruiting and retaining the best faculty possible
