About This Cause
The Place is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist people of the Forsyth and Dawson County areas with essential needs and to be self-sustaining. The Place was founded in 1975 and serves our communities with emergency financial assistance, clothing, food, career development, and educational opportunities, as well as resources and support for our senior, youth and homeless populations. In 2022, The Place received and fulfilled 25,847 requests for assistance from residents of Dawson and Forsyth.
