Mission Statement
Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School was founded by the Atlanta Archdiocese in 1951. It was first staffed by the Sisters of Mercy from Savannah, GA. The average number of students is between 500- 525. We are a co-ed elementary and middle school with grade levels ranging from Pre-K (4 years olds) through grade 8. In addition to a challenging academic program for all subjects, we also provide a faith-filled education at all grade levels. Our standardized test scores consistently rank OLA Catholic School in the top 10% nationwide. In 2011, we were awarded the National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award. We are located in the Brookhaven area of Metro Atlanta, GA.

Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School is a non-profit school located in the Brookhaven area of Metro Atlanta, GA. Our school was founded by the Atlanta Archdiocese in 1951. It was first staffed by the Sisters of Mercy from Savannah, GA. OLA remains fully accredited through AdvanceED, the parent company of SACS, and its district-wide accreditation of the Archdiocese of Atlanta Catholic Schools. We are a co-ed elementary and middle school with grade levels ranging from Pre-K (4 years olds) through grade 8. The average number of students per year is between 500- 525. Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School seeks to create a nurturing environment grounded in the Catholic faith, which provides for the spiritual and academic development of each child. Our staff beliefs are: parents are the primary educators of their children and a partnership exists between the school and the home; a challenging and enriching academic environment is provided; each child is unique and has the right to succeed; students are involved in Christian service based on the respect and dignity for each person. By aspiring to these beliefs, we seek to inspire students to affect society through their lives and ideals. OLA has a school-wide program of respect, which instills in students and faculty the premier "Golden Rule" to treat others as you would like to be treated.
