About This Cause
Our Vision - Our Plan The Humane Society of Manatee County has operated a no-kill facility since its founding in 1970. Humane Society of Manatee County is committed to leading Manatee County in fostering compassion and respect for all animals through care, education and collaboration. The philosophy of the Humane Society of Manatee County is that the treatment of animals is a reflection of our community, and our four core programs serving the animals continue to grow. The leadership of our organization is proud of the high quality, high volume spay/neuter clinic, TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) program, shelter adoption and retention services and Pet Safety Net. The Humane Society actively collaborates with other animal welfare organizations within the community to reduce euthanasia of animals as a means of population control. Our community outreach efforts are being expanded as these partnerships are essential to achieving our goals. We are committed to providing the highest quality medical care and related services for all of the animals in Manatee County, including those animals in families facing economic challenges. Our Solution Low Cost Spay/Neuter services are available to the public through our clinic by appointment, Monday through Saturday. Other services such as vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm tests, basic wellness care, and dentals for both dogs and cats are also available by appointment throughout the week. Our services are deeply discounted, through support from generous donors, in hopes that the animals in our community will be given the care and compassion they need to be well and stay in their homes. There are no income guidelines established for owners to be able to use our services. We strive to secure grants when available to provide further discounts to the services we offer for those who qualify. TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) HSMC staff and volunteers participate in our spay/neuter and return program of local feral and free-roaming cats. The altered cats are also vaccinated and ear tipped for identification purposes at a nominal fee. This program is available to people who agree to take responsibility for the future care and maintenance of the cat. Adoptions We provide shelter to a wide variety of dogs and cats in our adoption center. Our staff is trained to help you find the right match for your lifestyle. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and a lifetime of love. Pet Safety Net We believe that keeping pets in loving homes is every bit as important as finding new homes for orphaned pets. Please consider HSMC as a resource to help you and your pet have a long and happy life together. In addition to low cost services offered at our Pet Health Center, such as Spay/Neuter, vaccinations, wellness exams, and Dentals. We also offer the following: Pet Food Pantry – Through our food program, we can aid Manatee County residents unable to feed their pets. The pet food pantry is made possible thanks to generous contributions of community members and businesses. Behavior Issue Help – We will refer pet owners to trainers and organizations that can assist with behavioral challenges. HSMC also hosts training sessions on site! Pet Friendly Housing – Our website lists pet friendly apartments, and we provide copies of Pet Pages, a resource publication for housing, boarding and most aspects of pet care. Show your Support For our community’s animals, donations literally make the difference between neglect and nurturing, hurt and health, loneliness and loving homes. For more than 45 years, HSMC has relied solely on grants, bequests and donations from people in the community to carry out our mission. We continue to do so, more than ever, as we expand our horizons to end euthanasia of adoptable pets in our community. Thank you for joining us on this lifesaving journey. 2515 14th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34205 Phone 941-747-8808 Fax 941-747-5702 facebook.com/humanemanatee Volunteers HSMC depends on generous community contributions of both time and money.
