Mission Statement
Family Renew Community provides housing for homeless families with children and equips them with tools to achieve and maintain financial stability.
About This Cause
Family Renew Community owns and operates three properties in Volusia County, Fla., providing 32 modest, furnished apartments and intensive case management. Families may stay for six months or more while parents work, save money toward permanent housing and pursue educational, employment and parenting goals to improve long-term financial stability and well-being. More than 1,400 families have been served since the organization was founded in 1989. In 2017, 34 families attained permanent housing, an 81 percent rate of success. For 2018, FRC has added a homelessness prevention initiative and also will launch ongoing outreach to formerly homeless families. Governance is provided by a Board of Trustees that includes representatives of supporting religious congregations and individuals from the community at large. A community impact partner of the local United Way, FRC also receives support from an array of foundations, businesses, groups and individuals.
