Mission Statement

Junior Achievement's mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

About This Cause

Junior Achievement of Central Florida (JACF) works with partners in education and the business community to help ensure young people make more informed choices that lead to greater work and career satisfaction as an adult. JACF employs a pathways approach to teaching career and work readiness to young people. By “pathways”, we mean that JA programs are designed to engage students on the subject over multiple grades, from their first day in kindergarten to their K-12 years, preparing them for post-secondary education or work transition. JACF takes this approach because career and work readiness aren’t addressed until high school, which may come too late for students who haven’t given the subject much consideration in earlier grade levels when they are taking courses which could ultimately affect their academic readiness and ability to pursue specific career paths. Since nearly all of us will work as adults, we at JACF believe connecting students with career and work exploration throughout their K-12 journey is essential. JACF exists so that all kids, regardless of background, receive the tools they need to build a future for themselves. To accomplish this, JA provides innovative in-school and experiential off-site programs to students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. These programs are volunteer-led by corporate and community partners who provide a real-world perspective in the areas of career readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. JA empowers our youth with the knowledge, ability, and confidence to navigate their futures, drive our economy, and lead our community.
