Mission Statement
Through Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit we Connect leaders, Unify the body, and Mobilize people to Transform Lexington into a City for God. In general, LLF's programs work in partnership with other agencies, ministries, congregations and volunteers to deliver services to the most vulnerable in our midst. We serve over 3,000 children and families, engage over 60 partners and activate over 650 volunteers.
About This Cause
Our programmatic goals include the following: Urban Impact youth programs - 1) To provide at-risk children and youth with character-building activities that also build skills and knowledge. 2) To provide caring, supportive relationships for at-risk youth. 3) To engage volunteers as role models for youth participants. This includes both one-on-one and group mentoring opportunities. 4) This past year, Urban Impact has served 557 students in after-school and in-school programming, 772 kids in athletic activities, and over 3,000 families and you in community events. Amachi fo Central Kentucky - 1) Assist children impacted by incarceration in achieving their highest potential through 1-1 mentoring with a caring adult. 2) Mentors commit to spending at least one hour a week in a variety of positive driven activities. 3) In 2019, Amachi has 163 matches of witch 23 have been matched more than 5 years. Currently there are almost 70 kids waiting for a caring mentor. The Fatherhood Initiative - 1) Increase father presence in the lives of children through skills-based parenting education and father-child relationship enhancement activities. 2) Provide direct services to fathers and families. 3) Strengthen relationships between fathers and their families, improve co-parenting communication, and strengthen the couple's commitment to the well-being of the child through healthy marriage and relationship education. 4) In 2019, The Fatherhood Initiative will serve 300 men in programing representing over 1,000 children.
