Mission Statement
A first responder, providing basic needs to victims of major disasters in the United States, through a local Church of Christ.
About This Cause
The organization is a Tax Exempt 501(c)(3) corporation under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and our contributions are deductible under Section 172 (c) (2) of the same code. The corporation is organized and operated for the purpose of providing immediate assistance to victims of major natural disasters within the United States. The corporation focuses its relief effort primarily on the continental (48) United States, although the Board of Directors has the authority to extend those efforts to other areas if so needed. All of our assets and earnings are used exclusively for the purpose set above, including the payments of expenses. No part of the net earnings or donations of the corporation are for the benefit of or distribution to its directors, except that the corporation is authorized to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments and distributions in furtherance of the purpose set forth above. We help victims which for the most part, have lost their earthly possessions, have been displaced to the extent that they are homeless and in need of daily food and clothing. We propose to be an immediate responder to these situations, hoping to arrive with relief as soon as possible. In order to maintain this activity we must stay in a state of readiness, purchasing the supplies that we distribute, and packaging them for easy and timely distribution. Our family food boxes, personal hygiene boxes, infant care boxex, and cleaning items are pre-packed. Everything sent is new, no used items are accepted or distributed. At a later time, when people have a place to move back into, we can provide new beds, new appliances, and new furniture to uninsured or under-insured, low-income families that meet a family income maximum. The organization receives no government support.
