About This Cause
AltaPointe Health is Alabama’s largest and most comprehensive health and human services organization and psychiatric hospital system. We are the second largest in the southeastern US serving Mobile, Baldwin, and Washington counties in south Alabama and Clay, Coosa, Randolph, and Talladega counties to the north. Individuals in need of mental health, intellectual disability and addiction services face many challenges in their everyday lives. Receiving quality care and assistance in achieving better health and recovery should not be an added obstacle for them. At AltaPointe, our professionals work diligently to help our patients conquer challenges and overcome barriers that may hamper them from recovering. AltaPointe has been and continues to be the catalyst in transforming mental health into the mainstream of integrated healthcare in our region. We collaborate with educational, law enforcement and other healthcare and community-based mental health partners to create more services and make them more available and accessible to those who need them the most. As a result, the people we serve receive the highest quality care in a seamless continuum of outpatient, residential and inpatient settings. In addition, our outpatient and residential services are certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, and the Alabama Department of Public Health licenses our two psychiatric hospitals. Wherever possible, AltaPointe utilizes evidence-based practices in clinical care such as those endorsed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, SAMHSA, and The National Council for Behavioral Health. AltaPointe staff members Our administrative, clinical and medical teams are committed to expanding services to meet community needs that improve the quality of life for everyone we serve. Medical-Checkup AltaPointe’s medical staff members include 19 psychiatrists, 14 psychiatric certified registered nurse practitioners (CRNP),20 psychiatric residents and fellows, two primary care physicians, one primary care certified registered nurse practitioner. We also employ more than 450 licensed and certified behavioral and clinical healthcare professionals who provide the highest quality services. Today, AltaPointe employs a total of 1,524 clinical and non-clinical staff members who serve approximately 34,000 children, adolescents, and adults annually.
