About This Cause
Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham builds and repairs homes in partnership with low-to-moderate-income families to support affordable housing and repair needs in Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, and Walker counties. Habitat for Humanity addresses the need for affordable housing by building quality houses and providing critical repairs to owner-occupied houses. At the core of Habitat is the partnership with families. Houses are not given away. Habitat homebuyers build their homes alongside volunteers, complete education classes, and pay an affordable zero-interest mortgage.
