About This Cause
Sharkey Issaquena Community Hospital is the only facility serving the Lower Mississippi Delta. The small, rural emergency hospital is located in Rolling Fork,MS, and serves the nations most vulnerable and historically disadvantaged citizens. On March 24,2023, the small town of Rolling Fork was leveled by an EF4 tornado, injuring hundreds and killing 25. The facility is still on the journey to recovery, offering reduced care in the city’s civic center to maintain operations even a year after the deadly storm.
