About This Cause
About the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Southwest Florida The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) of Southwest Florida provides a comprehensive range of services to protect children, strengthen families, and prevent child abuse. All services are offered free of charge to children and families in Lee, Glades, Charlotte, and Hendry Counties. CAC supports children and families through the following key programs: Child Protection Team & Medical Services Available 24/7, this team provides crisis intervention services for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Services include forensic interviews, medical exams and evaluations, psychological assessments, family risk assessments, expert court testimony, and community education. Family Alliance Therapy Program A trauma-informed, outpatient counseling program offering individual, group, and family therapy for children who have been abused or have experienced trauma, non-offending caregivers, and adult survivors of abuse—all in a safe, supportive setting. Parenting Education Utilizing evidence-based curriculum, this program helps prevent child abuse by empowering parents with positive parenting strategies. Classes are available to both court-ordered and voluntary participants and are offered throughout the week, including evenings, weekends, and online—totaling 26 sessions weekly. East United Way Resiliency Hub As the lead agency, CAC operates this multi-agency outreach center in East Fort Myers, offering wraparound services that meet the diverse needs of local families through trusted community partnerships. Pine Manor After School & Summer Program Providing a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 5–12 in the Pine Manor neighborhood, this program supports academic success and social development through curriculum-based activities, reading support, and homework help. CAC is proudly accredited by the National Children’s Alliance, the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children, and the Council on Accreditation, reflecting our commitment to excellence in child advocacy and trauma-informed care.
