Womankind is a medical and wellness center providing high quality family planning, prenatal & primary care and mental health services to people of all income levels.
About This Cause
Womankind is a non-profit medical office providing family planning, gynecological, prenatal and primary care to women, men, and teens. Our mission at Womankind is to ensure access to high quality preventative care regardless of socio-economic situations. Womankind is located in the heart of Key West, Florida, and we serve many of the locals who support our beautiful island's tourism industry. In 2024 we opened a second location in Marathon, Florida. Our patient demographic consists of 49% of patients paying through private insurance, 13% who pay out of pocket, and 38% who utilize one of the sliding scale payment programs. Womankind has a vibrant teen program and we provide gentle first exams, birth control counselling, and free birth control methods to a large portion of our local high school students. Womankind's teen pregnancy rate is consistently lower than state averages. We receive funding from county, federal, and private donors and hold two major fundraising efforts each year. Our medical staff includes a board certified OB/GYN who serves as our medical director, 2 nurse practitioners, and 1 physician assistant.
