About This Cause

In need of a cancer support group dedicated to Chinese cancer survivors and their families in Washington State, several Chinese cancer survivors and a number of volunteers in the community groups joined hands to carry out their vision. After a year-long planning, the Washington State Chinese Cancer Network (WSCCN) was established in May 2002. In October 2003, the WSCCNA registered as a non-profit organization with Washington State and a 501c(3) with the Federal and changed its name to Washington State Chinese Cancer Network Association (WSCCNA). Our organization offers activities and programs to support and enhance the quality of life for cancer patients, cancer survivors, their families and friends. Currently, we have monthly support group meetings, monthly book study club, and educational workshops three times a year. We have a cancer and health resource library in Chinese for Chinese cancer patients and survivors to obtain medical, health, nutrition and exercise information. We have weekly activities for Tai Chi, Line Dance, Folk Dance, Origami, Ping Pong and Karaoke to encourage healthy living.
