Mission Statement
Since 1989, Fawn Rescues has been the only licensed wildlife organization in Sonoma County, CA to care for injured, ill or orphaned Black-Tail fawns.
About This Cause
Established in 1989, Fawn Rescue has provided this unique and much needed service to the community. On average Fawn Rescue cares for 100 or more fawns each year. We use satellite locations to raise and release our fawns back to the wild. The organization is supported solely on donations. We receive no Federal, State or County funding. As a public safety measure, we do not have a physical center where you can drop off fawns. Our Animal Care Manager, Selina Thor, will respond to all calls and answer your questions at 707-931-4550. Our Mission Statement: All Fawn Rescue's fawns come to us due to human interference. Therefore, we feel a deep obligation to restore them to health and return them to their natural habitat where they belong. Fawn Rescue offers free wildlife talks for Sonoma County businesses. The talks are approximately one-half hour in length, followed by additional time for an open question and answer session. Topics covered include the rescue and rehabilitation of fawns, as well as adaptations, habitats, and preservation of local native wildlife. It is against the policy of this facility to confine living wildlife for educational purposes. We believe their use for public education conveys the wrong message. Therefore, these talks are centered around a collection of native mounted animals. This exhibit provides people with the rare opportunity to examine, at close range, hoofs, claws, hair textures, and other features without stress to the animal. Children are particularly fascinated and full of amazing questions.
