Mission Statement
Oakland School for the Arts balances an immersive arts program with a comprehensive academic curriculum, providing students unique opportunities for learning, innovation, expression and personal growth. OSA’s arts and academic programs build discipline and confidence, effectively preparing creative youth to achieve their potential both in and outside of the arts.
About This Cause
OSA is a public charter school located in the heart of Downtown Oakland, CA in the historic Fox Theater. Now in its 19th year, OSA serves over 800 students in grades 6-12. OSA is a vibrant and diverse community of students, teachers and parents committed to the value of the arts in education. OSA maintains a 99% graduation rate and students gain acceptance into some of the most competitive colleges, universities and conservatories both nationally and internationally. OSA must raise about 8-12% of its annual operating budget each year. We rely on the generosity of donors from our parents, alumni, and larger communities to fill the gap.
