About This Cause
The Eco-School Network equips parents and students to lead school communities toward sustainability. Students and parents discover that they can create meaningful change by launching initiatives they care about to make schools greener and healthier. Our 137 trained leaders from 77 schools collaborate in district networks throughout the Portland Metro area to reform practices at the district level too. The Eco-School Network inspires hope among students and school communities. Engaging one-sixth of Oregon’s elementary students in practicing sustainability at school, the Network shrinks environmental footprints, enhances learning, builds a connection to nature, and develops their capacity to shape a brighter tomorrow.
